#STORY OF A BANANA LEAF

Grand Catering Company is one of the foremost wedding and food planning in the city with a reputation for world class premier events. They approached us to make an 2d animation video for the prestigious event WV Connect held in collaboration with Wedding Vows.
The concept or the idea they came forward with, really excited us. The video was about the authentic Tamil tradition of eating on banana leaves. The video initially explains in detail about the right way to serve/ eat banana leaf feasts and the health benefits of eating in feasts.
Right from the scripting, storyboarding, animating and sound design, everything was accomplished in a short span of a week by the team. We first narrowed down the mood of the video and then designed elements and characters to match the traditional theme of the video. 

The colours used were also in line with the theme. With the storyboarding, we demonstrated the flow of animation video and then proceeded to the animation. This was further embellished with a pristine voiceover and suitable sound effects.
Several days of burning the midnight oil, incorporating elements, getting just the right tone, colour and diction has finally paid off.

 கடக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு நிமிடங்களிலும் 

60 வினாடிகள் உன்னை பற்றிய சிந்தனைகள் மட்டும்.  

இது போதும் அன்பே எனக்கு, 

நாள் முழுவதும் வீணாய் போன கணக்கு..!

இவையெல்லாம் குறைந்தளவு என்று, 

என் நித்திரையிலும் சித்திரவதை செய்யும் உன் நினைவலைகள் 

என் கனா-வின் வாசலில் நின்று காலிங் பெல் அடிக்கிறது..!

இன்னைக்கு morning late'ah ஒரு 3 மணிக்கு தான் படுத்தேன்.
எழும்ப late ஆயிடுச்சி. so,first period (கண்ணன் sir lab) போக முடியல return வந்து room'ல படுத்து தூங்கிட்டேன். மதியம் Network programming Assignment (Rcc'ல) போய் submit பன்னிட்டு.
Web Tech Class அதுவும் லேட் 1.30-க்கு தான் போனேன். Mam get in'னு சொன்னாங்க.
Class உள்ள போகும் போது நான் அவள பாக்கவே இல்ல.
Becoz, அவ தான். நீ என்ன பாக்காத, பேசாதா-னு சண்ட போட்டுட்டா.
So,அதுல இருந்து ஒரு வாரமா நானும் அவள பாக்காத மாறியே நடிச்சிட்டு இருக்கேன்.
(அவ அப்போ அப்போ சொல்லுவா,'ரொம்ப Over'ah நடிக்காத Da'னு)
But, இன்னைக்கு நான் நடிச்சிட்டு இருக்கேன்'னு அவ கண்டு புடிச்சிருப்ப. ஏன்னா,
Web Tech Class முடிஞ்ச உடனே அவள நான் பாக்காத மாதிரியே வெளிய வந்துட்டேன். after
Dean office(opp) Water Tap'la தண்ணி குடிக்கும் போது கூட நான் அவள பாக்காத மாறி நடிச்சேன். அப்புறம்,
அவ திரும்பி போகும் போது நான் நடிக்க மறந்துட்டேன். காரணம்,
நான் என்னையே மறந்துட்டேன்.
இத நான் சொல்லியே ஆகனும்.
எனக்கு புடிச்ச பச்ச கலர் சுடிதார் போட்டுட்டு
வாய் மூட கூட தெரியாத வெள்ள colour மல்லி பூவ
பின்னிய அவ பின் முடியில எண்ணாம வச்சிட்டு வந்தா பாருங்க. கொஞ்ச நேரத்துல கண்ண எப்படி சிமிட்டனும்'னு கூட நான் மறந்துட்டேன். எல்லாரும் சொல்லுவாங்க
'என் ஆளு தேவதை மாறி இருக்காட'னு ஆனா,
நான் சொல்றேன்,
அந்த தேவதை தான் என்னோட ஆளு மாதிரி இருக்கு.
( நான் அப்படி சொன்ன அவளுக்கு பிடிகாது. ஏன்னா,
நான் பொய் சொன்னா அவளுக்கு பிடிக்கவே பிடிகாது).
சரி நாம Dean office'க்கு வருவோம்.
அவ பின்னாடியே Break இல்லாத Bike மாறி நிக்காம போய்கிட்டே இருக்கேன் அது நேரா போய் HoD office முன்னாடி பஞ்சர் ஆயிடுச்சி.
அந்த வழியா போகும் போது.
அவ HoD ஆபிஸ்'ah cross பன்ன. நான் அவள follow பன்ன.
அப்போ HoD வெளிய வந்தாரு. நான் வேற ID-card மறந்துட்டு வந்துட்டேன்.
அவரு என்ன பாத்து கேட்டாரு. வாடா Lab'க்கு போலாம்-னு
எனக்கு ஒன்னும் புரியல இப்போ எதுக்கு sir Lab'க்கு போகனும்-னு கேட்டேன். கிட்ட வந்து பளார்'னு ஒன்னு முதுகு மேலயே வச்சாரு.
திடீர்-னு எழுந்துட்டேன்.
கண்ண முழிச்சா எல்லாம் கனவு.
என் Room-mate, என்ன அடிச்சி எழுப்பி வாடா Lab'க்கு போலாம்'னு கூப்பிடுறான்.
சை கனவா இது. வட போச்சே'னு சொல்லிட்டு
Mobile'ah Time பாத்தா 8.20. எல்லாரும் Class போயிட்டாங்க.
நானும் எழுந்து அவசர அவசர'mah குளிக்காம,
வேக வேக'மா Brush பன்னிட்டு
Department வரைக்கும் போயிட்டேன்.
Red-building Clock'la பாத்தா Time 8.45.
அப்போதான், எனக்கு தோனுச்சி,
பேசாம நாம மறுபடியும் Room'ல போய் தூங்கினா
கனவு'ல வந்த மாதிரி நடக்குமோ'னு நெனச்சிகிட்டு
போய் தூங்கிட்டேன்..!
